INSIDE THE LIONS: Sticking with Plan A
Lions' All-Access concludes its special Inside the Lions look at the 2012-13 men's basketball roster, highlighting junior Anthony Ireland.
Nov. 7, 2012
LOS ANGELES -- The 2012-13 LMU men's basketball season is just two days away with the season opener at Gersten Pavilion on Nov. 9. Lions' All-Access concludes its feature Inside the Lions, with junior Anthony Ireland.
As a true freshman, Ireland slowly gained playing time, capping his first season with a 24-point outing in the WCC tournament against Santa Clara. It was a launching point to a sophomore season that saw burst on the scene as one of the west's top point guards.
He would go on to score 20 or more points 11 times in 2011-12, ranking second in the WCC with just 16 points per contest. Earning him a bunch of accolades, including NABC All-District and WCC All-Conference.
With the breakout season a year ago, Ireland enters his third season on a mission to not only grow his game but to continue to play for something way bigger than himself. And as he progresses, he remains focused on his "plan A, and I haven't really thought about a plan B".
Find out how family, the name LMU, his teammates and his role as a leader guides him as he enters year three of his college career only on Lions' All-Access.
LMU will open their season on Friday, Nov. 9 when they host Pacifica at Gersten Pavilion with tip-off set for 7 p.m. The Lions will then travel to face SMU on Sunday, Nov. 11 to finish the opening weekend of play. Season tickets are still available, including special Friends and Family pricing. Visit the Ticket Homepage for more information.
