“They have a team that is a “we” team,” said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. “They use the pass, the pick-and-roll, they are smart defensively, and don’t foul unnecessarily. It’s their year with what coach has done with that team.”

Alex Larsson’s career-high 15 points and 13 rebounds earned himself Big West Player of the Week honors.

The Lions, played to a tough loss in front an energetic homecoming crowd in Saturday’s road loss at UTA. LMU did have four double-digit scorers and three players share the team-high in rebounds.

“The guys are in a good place,” said Dunlap. “We learned a lot in the last game against Arlington. We have a young group, and I am very excited about how we played that game. I see more of the same coming up, but we have some learning to go through in order to arrive with seven new players.”

The Lions outrebounded the Mavs by 10, were plus-8 in the points in the paint, and dominated second-chance points, 22-8.
