After opening the season with a 1-1 record at the California Baptist Tip-Off Classic, the Golden Eagles have strung together five straight home wins.

LMU, had won three straight until Saturday night’s dry spell kept the Lions from scoring for over seven minutes of play.

“We had a good practice today,” said Head Coach Mike Dunlap on Monday. “We split on the road. Against Boise State we did a fantastic job and then we hit a drought. It was 40-34 with 14 minutes to go and who would have known that we would have gone seven minutes without scoring. We had great looks time and again, we just could not put that ball down, and that happens. We learned a lot and I thought we were very upbeat today.”

The Lions had used a pair of dozen-plus point comebacks in each of their previous two wins. After gaining the lead against the Broncos, LMU went on a dry spell, shooting just 1-for-18 during a stretch of the second half.

“We’ve shown on two significant comebacks that we are able to score the ball and we’ve shown that we can do that,” said Dunlap. “We just have to be a little smoother and more confident.”

The men's game will follow the unbeaten women's team who play at 5 p.m. against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Tuesday's game will also recognize LMU's outstanding Faculty and Staff.
