LMU Men's Basketball History and Records

The Loyola Marymount University men's basketball history can be traced back to 1906-07 when the college known as St. Vincent's went 5-0. In the years since, the LMU men's basketball program has grown into one of the more recognized programs in the nation. Below is information on LMU's history and the records set since 1906. The 1989-90 LMU men's basketball team is one of the more memorable collegiate basketball team in history, setting the NCAA Division I mark in scoring with 122.4 points per game and advancing to the Elite Eight despite the loss of star Hank Gathers, who passed away in the first half of a game during the WCC tournament.
