Upcoming Race Information
Date: Saturday-Sunday, April 7-8, 2001 Event: San Diego Crew Classic Time: All Day (see schedule) Location: 2000 Meter Course in Mission Bay Event Information:In truly one of the best regattas in the country, the LMU men's and women's crew team will be involved in junior, collegiate, and masters rowers racing over the 2000 meter course in Mission Bay. The collegiate races are the focus of the regatta. To make it through the Saturday heats and be racing on Sunday is an accomplishment. To be racing on Sunday afternoon - in the Grand Finals - is a feather in the cap of any program. And to be standing on the green, after having won a Grand Final, is the ultimate goal. LMU entries and possible progressions: Novice Women 8- race organizers received more requests for boatings than lanes available for this event. Therefore, a few crews drew short straws and were moved to the Women's Open 8. LMU Novice women will race in the Women's Open 8. The Open 8 will be a collection of novice 8s, second novice 8s (since there is no 2nd novice 8 category), varsity 8s (also an over requested event), 3rd varsity 8s, and random open boats put together by alums and adult groups.
