Briefly... Boris Stantchev is in his fourth and final season of collegiate golf at LMU... qualified for Long Beach Golf Festival's 87th Annual Match Play Championship in 2012...

LMU Highlights...2011-12... played 10 events and finished with a 77.7 stroke average... had a low round of 71 and two rounds under par on the season... 2010-11... played in five tournaments, finishing with a 78.3 stroke average in 14 rounds of action... finished 35th with a three-round 218 at the Palouse Collegiate in best tournament of the season... 2009-10... Played in all 11 tournaments for the 2009-2010 season...finished top-20 twice...his best outing was at the Kauai Collegiate Invite where he ended the tournament in 6th place after rounds of 67, 72, and 71, where he finished six under...put up a season stroke average of 76.6 with a +5.

High School... graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif., in 2009... played all four years for coach Jeffrey Evans... had a 71.5 scoring average... finished seventh at the CIF/SCGA South Regional Championship in Murrieta with a 68, one stroke from qualiying for state... also qualified for CIF/SCGA Regional as a junior and sophomore... shot a 73 to finish tied for 35th as a junior... had best finish as a sophomore, shooting a 68 in the Southern Regional to advance to state championship at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach... he finished state tied for 13th... as a senior he took individual medal honors in more than half of the team's league matches, leading the Bruins to an undefeated season, earning team MVP honors... he was team MVP his last three years of high school... was named Long Beach Press Telegram Golfer of the Year as a sophomore and as a senior... was All-CIF and All-Stateas a sophomore and a senior... earned all-league honors his last three years...

Personal... Boris Borissov Stantchev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and is the son of Boriana Ciampa and Boris Stantchev... his stepfather, Chris Ciampa, played baseball at San Diego... has a younger brother and sister... a Business major.
