Briefly... Eduardo Chavez enters his third season with the Lions after transferring from the University of New Mexico... 2011-12 will be his senior season... qualified for the 2012 Florida State Amateur Championship in Jupiter, Fla., in the Summer of 2012...

At LMU... 2011-12... played in 10 events for the Lions, finishing with a 76.9 stroke average over 30 holes on the season... had a low round of 70 in the first round of the Bull Cullum Invitational... finished tied for 32nd at the 2012 WCC Championships... 2010-11... played in seven tournaments, finishing with a 75.8 stroke average in 21 rounds... had the best round of the season for the Lions, shooting a 66 in his very first round as a Lion at the Palouse Collegiate... it was his best tournament of the season, placing in a tie for 12th with a four-under 212... He finished the WCC Championships with a 232, good for 35th...

BEFORE LMU... Played one season of golf for the University of New Mexico...he played in two tournament for a Lobo team that advanced to the NCAA regionals in 2010. He finished 66th out of 104 in his first collegiate event, posting a 228 at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate hosted by the Lobos. He also placed 21st in the two-round New Mexico Collegiate Cup, posting a 151...

High School... posted two top-10 finishes and three top-15s in AJGA action. He placed 31st at the 2007 Junior Orange Bowl Invitational, won the 2007 IJGT Mizuno Midseason Championship and won the 2007 Palmetto Invitational with rounds of 71, 69 and 68. In 2008, he tied for 14th at the 2008 Saint Agustine Amateur, which included a low round of 65, and also qualified for US Amateur at age 16. During his senior season of high school, he ranked 93rd nationally and 15th in the state of California for the class of 2009...

Personal... Eduardo Maximiliano Chavez was born on Sept. 25, 1991 in San Mateo, Calif...son of Myriam and Fernando Chavez...has one brother Sam, who plays golf for the University of New Mexico and a sister, Paloma...chose LMU over SMU, USF, UCSB, UC Davis, and New Mexico...a Communications major.
