High Rounds Dominate First Day
Men's golf tied for ninth as 16 of the 24 team rounds in the 300s in the first day of the Farms Collegiate.

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- The Farms Golf Club dominated the 12-team field at the The Farms Collegiate Invitational as 16 of the 24 team rounds were in the 300s as LMU sits in a tie for ninth at the San Diego hosted tournament on Monday.
The Lions shot rounds of 311 and 313 and are tied with UC Santa Barbara. West Coast Conference foe Saint Mary's leads the field after the first two rounds. The final round begins at 8 am, Tuesday.
Seniors Bryan Bergna and Boris Stantchev led the Lions with rounds of 152 and 154, respectively. Bergna is in a tie for 22nd overall out of 69 golfers, hitting a pair of rounds at 76 on the par-72 course. Stantchev is in a tie for 31st place with rounds of 788 and 76.
Junior Tyler Torano was third for the Lions, hitting a plus-13 on the day, posting a 157 to sit in a tie for 39th.
