Lions In Eighth Heading into Final Day
Men's golf is in eighth place at Sacramento State Invite as freshman leads the way.

ELK GROVE, Calif. -- LMU men's golf sits in eighth place at the 14-team Sacramento State Invitational presented by The Old Spaghetti Factory, posting a two-round 587 at Valley Hi Country Club on Monday. Freshman Connor Campbell leads the Lions as he sits in a tie for 11th.
The Lions opened with a 290 and followed with a 297 as they trail host Sacramento State by three-storkes, who sits in seventh, and follow Southern Utah and USC Upstate, who are in a tie for fifth with a 582.
Campbell opened with a 70 and followed with a 75 to sit in a tie for 11th with a 145. He is followed by junior Tyler Torano, who sits in a tie for 27th with a 147. Sitting one stroke behind him is senior Bryan Bergna with a 148. He is in a tie for 31st.
Rounding out the scores was senior Boris Stantchev in a tie for 51st and freshman Chase Nicolai is in a tie for 55th.
The Lions will start the third and final round at 8 am on Tuesday.
