Lions Lead After Two
Men's golf holds a nine-stroke lead heading into final round of Triumph at Pauma Valley.

Pauma Valley, CA - The LMU men's golf team posted a two-round score of 569 to lead the 12-team field at the Triumph at Pauma Valley hosted by the University of San Francisco at the Pauma Valley Country Club on Monday. The Lions hold a nine-stroke lead over the University of British Columbia heading into the final round on Tuesday.
The Lions posted rounds of 284 and 285 on Monday for their one-over par 569. British Columbia has a 578 and is followed by both San Francisco teams at 582 and 583. Hartford is in fifth at 586.
Leading the way for the Lions was sophomore John Lim as he shot rounds of 68 and 69 to lead the entire field with a five-under 137. He is three strokes ahead of British Columbia's Brandon Markiw, who is in second with a two-round 140. Lim had three birdies, all on the back nine in the second round to post a two-under 69. He had four birdies, three in the front nine while posting a three-under 68 in the first round.
Senior Brian Locke was second for the Lions and is in a tie for fourth place with a two round 143. He opened with a 71 in the first round and followed with a 72 in the second round.
Freshman Jake Sarnoff gives the Lions three in the top-10 as he sit in a tie for ninth with a three-round 145. He posted rounds of 73 and 72.
The Lions will look for their first tournament title of the season in the final round starting at 7:30 on Tuesday. Follow all the action live on GolfStat.
