Day One Has Lions in Second
Men's golf in second place of Cal Poly Intercollegiate as Brian Locke is tied for lead heading into Friday's final round.

Arroyo Grande, CA (March 29) - The Loyola Marymount men's golf team, playing in their final tournament before the West Coast Conference Championships in April, posted a two-round 584 to sit in second place out of 18 teams at the 2007 Cuesta Title/Cal Poly Intercollegiate played on the Cypress Ridge Golf Course Thursday.
The Lions shot rounds of 291 and 293 to sit eight-over par and nine strokes behind host Cal Poly for the lead. The Lions lead Cal State Bakersfield by two strokes. The Lions will play in the final round on Friday morning.
Leading the way for the Lions is sophomore Brian Locke who is tied for first with Cal Poly's Geoff Gonzalez with a four-under par 140. Locke posted the best round among the 98-man field with a first round 67. He followed with a 73.
Junior Jason D'Amore was second for the Lions and is tied for 11th with rounds of 74 and 71 to card a 145. Sophomore Louie Bergna is tied for 18th with rounds of 76 and 71 for a first day total of 147.
