Bergna In Top-10 After One

HOLLISTER, Calif. - Junior Bryan Bergna continues his late season hot streak as he opened the first round of the 2012 West Coast Conference Men's Golf Championships with an even par 72 to sit in a tie for 10th place at San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister, Calif., on Monday. Bergna had three birdies and three bogies along with 12 holes at par for a 72 on Monday. He is in a tie for 10th entering Tuesday's second round. Sitting one stroke behind Bergna is sophomore Tyler Torano, who shot a one-over 73. Torano had five birdies and overcame a front nine that had just one par and three birdies. Rounding out the Lions scoring was Boris Stantchev with a 78, Eduardo Chavez with a 79 and Jake Sarnoff with an 81. As a team the Lions opened with a 302 and will tee-off in the opening group on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
