Golf Takes Sixth; Earns PCH Cup Point
Men's golf finishes 2012 WCC Men's Golf Championships in sixth place.

HOLLISTER, Calif. -- Senior Jake Sarnoff and sophomore Tyler Torano were LMU's one-two punch all season and they finished the 2012 West Coast Conference Men's Golf Championships helping the Lions to a Wells Fargo PCH Cup Point with a three-stroke edge over rival Pepperdine after the final round on Wednesday at San Juan Oaks Golf Club.
Sarnoff and Torano posted two-under rounds of 70. Torano had his cleanest round of the Championship, hitting four birdies and two bogies. On the tough back nine, he post a two-under 34, hitting two birdies with 16 pars.
As for Sarnoff, he had six birdies on the day, hitting a three-under 33 on the front nine.
Torano finished the three rounds with a 217 while Sarnoff posted a 222.
As a team, the Lions posted a final round 297, good for a tournament total of 885. The total was three strokes better than the Waves, who also shot a a 297 on the final day. With the edge over the Waves, the men's golf team earns a point in the Wells Fargo PCH Cup.
