DANVILLE, Calif. –As is tradition at the annual West Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championships, the hole placements for round two get a little tougher and scores rise with it. That was the case on Tuesday at Blackhawk Country Club for day two at the 2016 WCC Championships, but senior Connor Campbell used it to his advantage to make a big move in the standings.

Campbell sits in a tie for 12th, jumping 14 spots after shooting a second-round 71. Scores on Monday averaged 73.32 but jumped to 75.18 after round two on Tuesday. Campbell posted a 75 on Monday and is tied with five others with a two-round score of 146. His round included three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 third hole.

Braden Baer sits second for the Lions, shooting a 78 on Tuesday and sits in a tie for 23rd. Rounding out the Lions’ scores is Nick Jan in a tie for 35th, Riley Elmes in a tie for 37th and Billy Pollock in a tie for 40th.

The third and final round begins Wednesday morning. The Lions will tee-off with Santa Clara and Gonzaga starting at 7:50 with Pollock. He will be followed by Elmes at 8:01, Jan at 8:12, Baer at 8:23 and then Campbell at 8:34.
