SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico -- The LMU men's golf team posted another team total of 294 in the second round of the Cabo Collegiate on Friday at Club Compestre GOlf Course in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Jake Sarnoff and Tyler Torano sit in the top-10 heading into Saturday's final round. With scores much higher in day two, Sarnoff posted a one-over 73 for a two-round total of 142, good for a tie at eighth place. The freshman Torano posted a 75 on Friday and sits in a tie for 10th just one stroke behind at 143. Sebastian Cappelen of Arkansas posted back-to-back scores of 68 to lead the field at six-under. The Lions are in a tie for seventh with a two-round score of 588. They are tied with co-host Santa Clara. Arkansas is at 557 to lead the 12-team field, 18 strokes better than second place Southeastern Louisiana. Junior Bryan Bergna had the best round on the day for the Lions, shooting an even par 72. He is in a tie for 29th in the 66-man field with a two-round 149. Boris Stantchev also had a solid round for the Lions, shooting a 74 to put him in a tie for 51st at 155. Eduardo Chavez enters tomorrows final round at 160.
