Golf Returns as Lions Head to the Desert

LOS ANGELES - The spring men's golf season continues this weekend as Loyola Marymount travels to Palm Desert to play in the 2018 Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. Classic Club, a Par 72, 7,322 yard course, will host the three-day tournament from Feb. 16-18. Each day will be a double-tee start off of holes 1 and 10 starting at 7 a.m. PT. 

Coach Jason D'Amore will pair junior Riley Elmes and senior Billy Pollock with his freshman trio of Samuel Su, Cameron Meeks, and Matthew Carungay.

The 22 competing teams are: Wyoming Cowboys, Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans, Boise State Broncos, Cal Bears, Colorado Buffs, Denver Pioneers, Idaho Vandals, Kansas Jayhawks, Loyola Marymount Lions, Nebraska Huskers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Old Dominion Monarchs, South Dakota State Jackrabbits, Southern Illinois Salukis, Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, TCU Horned Frogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Cal State Fullerton Titans, UC Riverside Highlanders, UCLA Bruins, UT Arlington Mavericks, and the Wichita State Shockers. 

In this tournament last year, LMU finished 14th of 22 with a 299-298-295--892, and were led by Elmes' 20th-place individual finish after shooting 2-under (73-71-70--214) for the weekend.
