Los Angeles, CA - It has been more than three months since the Loyola Marymount men's golf team took the course in tournament action. They are finally back as they begin the spring season at the 2008 Anteater Invitational Feb. 25-26 at the Santa Ana Country Club in Newport Beach, CA. They are one of 10 teams in this year's tournament hosted by UC Irvine.

Making the trip for the Lions will be junior Brian Locke, senior Jason D'Amore, junior Bryan Martin, junior Greg Moss and junior Louie Bergna. Locke, the two-time All-American, leads the Lions with a 71.6 average in 15 tournament rounds. He is followed by D'Amore at 73.2. Martin and Moss, both transfers this season, are fourth and fifth while Bergna earned a spot on the top-five with his qualifying rounds in practice. It will be his first tournament of the season.

The Lions return to the Anteater Invitational after taking seventh place a year ago at the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach. This year's tournament will feature Arizona, UC Irvine, San Francisco, Cal Poly, UC Riverside, Portland, Idaho, Oral Roberts and Santa Clara.

The Santa Ana Country Club in a par-72 course that will play 6,542 yards. The course rating is 71.7 and it has a slope rating of 128 on Kikuyu grass. Designed by Ted Robinson, ASGCA, the Santa Ana golf course opened in 1901.
