No. 78 LMU Continues at 30th USC Invite

The Loyola Marymount men's golf team, coming off a third place finish in their first tournament of the spring season, will travel to North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village to play in their second spring invitational, the 30th USC Collegiate Invitational on March 3-4. The 14-team field is one of the better ones the Lions will face this season. In addition to LMU and host USC, the field includes BYU, Cal, Fresno State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington. In the field, USC is ranked seventh, Stanford at No. 8, Tennessee at No. 9, Pepperdine 29th, Oregon State at 40, ORegon at 47, Okalhoma at 56, Notre Dame at 59, Washington at 68, Cal at 75, Fresno State at No. 82 abd BYU at 116. The Lions enter the tournament ranked No. 78, their highest in-season ranking in school history. Senior Brian Locke, who finished in a tie for first at the UC Irvine Invitaitonal last week, is ranked 128th. All rankings by Golfweek.co m as of Feb. 24. The USC Invite, formally the Southwestern Collegiate, begins on Monday with 36 holes at 7:30 a.m., and then will conclude with the final 18 on Tuesday.
