Torano Selected to NCAA Regional
Senior to make second straight appearance as an individual selection to to Oregon Regional in the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships.

INDIANAPOLIS -LMU senior Tyler Torano will continue his final season of play with the Lions, earning an individual selection to the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships. It is his second straight selection to the NCAA tournament and he will play in the Oregon Regional.
Torano is just the third Lion to earn multiple regional appearances, joining Brian Locke (2006, 07, 08) and Jason D'Amore (2006, 08). Torano led the Lions in stroke average for the third straight season, hitting an average 73.0, giving him a career average of 73.3. He earned his second straight First-Team All-WCC selection after finishing 11th at the 2014 West Coast Conference Championships.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 15-17. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
Torano is one of 10 individuals at the regional hosted by the University of Oregon at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. Play begins on Thursday, May 15 with the first 18-hole round. The second round will be played on Friday, May 16 with the final round on Saturday, May 17.
Torano is one of four individuals from the West Coast Conference in the Oregon Regional. He is joined by Pacific's Byron Meth, San Francisco's Cory McElyea and Pepperdine's Frederick Wedel.
The finals will be conducted May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. Wichita State University is the host institution for the 2014 championships.
