LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount men’s golf will be one of 16 teams competing at Fresno State’s Nick Watney Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. LMU will compete with a five-member team and use a sixth player as an individual competitor.
The event will span two days and feature 54 holes of stroke play. A shotgun start format will be used for rounds one and two, both held on Monday. All players will be re-grouped before the final round on Tuesday, based on scores, and tee off every 10 minutes from holes No. 1 and No. 10.
The tournament field includes Host Fresno State, BYU, Cal Poly, CSUN, Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Sacramento State, Saint Mary’s, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle University, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and Utah.
Sunnyside Country Club will play at par 71, 6,921 yards for the Nick Watney Invitational (Hole No. 5 will play as a par 4 measuring 496 yards). Sunnyside Country Club (located on the southeast side of Fresno, Calif.) is known for its tree-lined fairways, beautiful bunkering, and challenging bentgrass greens.
