Lions Head to Reno

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU men's golf team will travel to Reno, Nev., for round two of the 2009-10 season. The Lions will participate in the 13-team 2009 Wolf Pack Classic hosted by the University of Nevada-Reno at Wolf Run Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5-6. Making the trip for the Lions will be the same line-up as the season opener. Sophomore Jake Sarnoff leads the Lions after placing fifth at the Palouse Classic on Sept. 15. He will be joined by freshmen Boris Stantchev and Bryan Bergna, junior John Lim and senior Blake Nicolai. Stantchev had an impressive debut for the Lions two weeks ago with a tie for 10th finish. In addition to host Nevada, the Lions will get a good luck at its competition from the West Coast Conference and the west region. Also playing in the tournament will be Arizona, Boise State, Fresno State Gonzaga, Idaho, Kansas State, New Mexico State, Portland, Sacramento State, San Diego and Wichita State. First round action starts at 8:00 a.m. on the par-72, 7,100-yard course in Reno, Nev., on Monday. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with the final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
