LAKE TAHOE, Nev. –- After slow play due to wet conditions and a lightning delay, the LMU’s men’s golf team closed out day 1 of the Wolf Pack Classic in a tie for 13th place with Utah State. After two rounds the Lions shot a team total of 596 after two consistent rounds of 298 each.

Junior Jake Sarnoff led the Lions for the day with a two round total of 141, shooting 73 and 68 respectively going 3 under par for the day. Sarnoff sits in a tie for 5th place heading into tomorrow’s final round.

Sophomore Boris Stantchev closed out the day in a tie for 33rd shooting a 72 and 76 for the day. Senior John Lim ended in a tie for 62nd with freshman Tyler Torano right behind him in a tie for 66th. Freshman Parker Middleton made his collegiate debut closing out the pack in 79th place.

WCC rival, University of San Diego stands at the top at the end of day one with a team total of 564 and a commanding lead after two rounds. Host school, University of Nevada, Reno is 12 strokes behind them with 576.

The Lions conclude the Wolf Pack Classic with round three teeing off at 8:30am tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 5th at the Edgewood Golf Course.
