Ben Carr begins his first year as a coach with LMU rowing in 2017-18. Carr received a business degree in marketing and management from Emory University, and later became a Fellow of Applied Functional Science with the Gray Institute.
Carr coached the University of Virginia men's rowing program for three years. He then moved into the physical therapy and behavioral coaching field, and later returned to rowing as the Director of Summer Programs for the Penn AC Rowing Association. He has worked with athletes who have become collegiate national champions, Henley Royal Regatta winners, and FISA World Championship medalists.
"I had the privilege of working with Ben during the 2016 summer at Penn AC, and am completely thrilled he has joined our coaching staff," said head coach Hanna Osborne upon his hire. "He brings with him a wealth of knowledge not just within our sport, but to build a team culture that will benefit not only our men's team, but will undoubtedly be valuable to the entire LMU Rowing program."
