WIRAs Approaching for Rowing’s Men and Women
Men to conclude season and women to get extra look at Lake Natoma
Loyola Marymount’s men and women will be rowing this weekend at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
“We are continuing to train hard this week and are looking forward to another opportunity to race on the WCC Championship course,” said Head Coach Justin Price.
The regatta will serve as the final race of the season for the men’s team and will act as the women’s final opportunity to race before the West Coast Conference Championships on May 13. Lake Natoma in Sacramento will be the site for both the WIRAs and the WCCs.
“We are excited for our freshmen men to compete in the pair for the first time this season,” said Price. “For the women, our goal will be to race hard and continue to improve, making sure we are at our best on May 13.”
The Lions will open in the Women’s Varsity 8+ DI on Saturday at 8:50 a.m. and then compete in the JV 8+ DI at 9:20.
The Women’s Novice 4+ heats are the final races of the day before finals begin. LMU will compete in the 2 p.m. Heat 2.
