Briefly...
Miguel Benitez enters his fourth year at LMU, his third athletically after redshirting during the 2004 season... will be challenging for the starting spot... his size, distribution, and physical attributes project him to be one of the top goalkeepers in the WCC...

At LMU... 2006... played in two games, starting both... first appearance came against Marquette (Sept. 2), in which he gained the win in 90 minutes... made one save in the win over Cal Baptist (Sept. 17)...

2005... started and appeared in two games... first collegiate appearance came at West Virginia (Oct. 12)... earned a tie in that game, allowing one goal in 110 minutes... made three saves... second appearance was against Northwestern at home (Oct. 21)... allowed two goals and made one save... Director's List Spring 2006...

Graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School in 2004... a three-year letterwinner for coach Steve Burke... was team captain as a senior... was a three-time all-league performer... earned All-CIF Division I first-team honors as a junior and senior... named the Del Rey Goalie of the Year in 2002 and was named the Daily Breeze Player of the Year in 2004... Personal... Miguel Angel Benitez was born in Gardena, CA, on November 13, 1986... he is the son of Claudia and Roberto Benitez... he has three sisters, Maria, Claudia and Cristina, and one brother, Robert... did volunteer work at 20th Street Elementary... a Business major with an emphasis in management.
