Briefly...
Diego Barrera enters his third season at LMU...2004 All-WCC second team... played with the U-18 National team in 2005, helping the US win its first ever Milk Cup trophy... one of the top attacking players in the country...

At LMU... 2005...
had a spectacular start to the 2005 season before an injury cut his year short... played and started the first six games of the season... scored and assisted on the game-winner in LMU's 2-1 victory over #10 UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 25)... earned WCC Player of the Week honors and was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for that performance... assisted on two goals in LMU's win over North Florida (Sept. 5)... named to the UC Irvine College Classic All-Tournament Team following that game... also added an assist against Tulsa (Sept. 16)... despite missing most of the season, he tied for second on the team in assists with four...led the WCC in assists per game, and was third in the WCC in points per game with six points in six games... took 14 shots on the season, seven on goal...

College Soccer News All-Freshman Third Team... second team All-WCC... WCC All-Freshman Team... LMU's leading scorer in conference games with 12 points (five goals, two assists)... all but one point came in conference games... played in 22 games, starting ten... scored three goals in two game series with San Diego to earn WCC Player of the Week, Soccer America and College Soccer News Team of the Week honors... other goals came against Santa Clara (Oct. 17), and San Francisco (Nov.5)... assisted on game-winner against American (Sept. 12)... LMU's second leading scorer overall... in conference games, top five in the conference for points and goals per game...

Diego Alejandro Barrera was born in Bogota, Colombia on March 25, 1987... he is the son of Sandra and Blake Upton and Alejandro Barrera... mother played basketball at Los Libertadores in Colombia... did tutoring for the "homework club" for kids in high school... has a brother, Daniel Barrera, and a sister, Sarah Upton...
