Briefly Shaun Kalnasy enters his fourth season with the Lions...a transfer from Wake Forest University...2003 All-WCC honorable mention...covers the net well...spent a second straight summer with the Spokane Shadow of the United Soccer League's (USL) Premier Developmental League (PDL)...has the potential to become the first LMU goalkeeper to compete in Major League Soccer (MLS).
At LMU-2003 Played in 17 games...posted an 11-4-1 record...collected six shutouts tying the mark for shutouts in a single season...made 82 saves on the season...recorded a season-high nine saves against Bucknell (Sept. 21)...finished the year with a goals against average of 0.82, setting a new LMU single-season record...currently holds the career goals against average (0.83) record...collected his first career assist against Michigan State (Sept. 1). 2002 Played 19 minutes in net against UC Riverside (Oct. 4). 2001 Made two appearances as the Lions' goalkeeper...earned a record of 1-0 with a win against Cal State L.A. (Sept. 28)...made three saves and allowed just one goal in 60 minutes played.
At Wake Forest-2000 Did not play. High School Kalnasy is a 2000 gradaute of Mercer Island High School in Mercer Island, WA...earned three varsity letters...served as team captain during his final campaign...was a two-time all-conference selection...prep coach was Steve Newman. Personal Shaun Kalnasy was born on Nov. 4, 1981 in Seattle, WA...the son of Glenn and Lynne Kalnasy...has one sister, Monica...names pasta as his favorite food...a communications major. |
