John McFarlin will return for a fifth and final season in 2015 after being sidelined by injury in 2014... team co-captain in 2013 and 2014... member of the Portland Timbers' U23 team in the summers of 2012 and 2013...

At LMU...

Preseason All-WCC... started the first three matches of the season before being sidelined by injury for the remainder of the 2014 slate...

All-WCC First Team... set an LMU record with 11 assists, breaking Rafa Baca's standing record of 10 set in 2010... also scored four goals, bringing his point total to 19 for the season... started 17 matches and appeared in 18... logged 1,377 minutes of action... took 29 shots, including 12 on frame... 11 assists came in eight different matches... matched the LMU single-game record with three helpers in the Lions 4-0 shutout of Sacramento State (Sept. 20)... also had multiple assists (two) in the Lions' 4-0 win over Santa Clara (Oct. 6)... scored goals against Colgate (Sept. 13), Portland (Oct. 13 and Nov. 8) and Saint Mary's (Oct. 18)... netted the overtime game-winner in a 2-1 final against Saint Mary's (Oct. 18)...

All-WCC Honorable Mention... followed up a breakout rookie season with a solid sophomore campaign... earned 18 starts and made 19 total appearances... logged 1,500 minutes... took 20 shots, including 10 on frame... tallied one goal and a team-high four assists... scored the first goal and assisted the game-winner in a 2-1 win versus Gonzaga (Oct. 5)... also had assists at Saint Mary's (Sept. 28) and at Portland (Nov. 2)...

All-WCC Honorable Mention ... WCC All-Freshman Team... appeared in 14 matches and became a regular starter in the second half of the season... finished with 12 starts... logged 880 minutes... had one goal and three assists for five points... first collegiate point was an assist in a 3-2 loss at Gonzaga (Oct. 7)... first collegiate goal was the game-winner in a 1-0 overtime final against Santa Clara (Oct. 14)... added two assists in a 4-1 win over Gonzaga (Nov. 6)... National Scholar-Athlete...

High School...
Four-year letterwinner at Santa Rosa High School... named North Bay League and Redwood Empire Player of the Year as a junior... team captain for both his junior and senior campaigns... led SRHS to North Coast Section Division I championship game... SRHS Scholar Athlete of the Year... played club soccer for Santa Rosa United and for the Sonoma County Sol, an amateur men's team in the National Premier Soccer League... Principal's Honor Roll...

John Fulton McFarlin was born on December 15, 1992 in Santa Rosa, Calif.... son of Thomas and Margaret McFarlin... has two older brothers, Edward and Adam... also considered Cal Poly and San Diego State... volunteered at the local food bank, downtown market, and as a youth soccer coach... majoring in Finance at LMU...
