Michael Brewer enters his fourth year of action after redshirting the 2000 season...a tenacious defender...possesses good ball skills...solid defensive midfielder...heads the ball well...technically very clean...an extremely versatile player...will serve as a team captain this season.
Played and started in 17 games for the Lions...tallied assists against UC Riverside (Oct. 3) and Santa Clara (Nov. 15)...posted four shots on the season.
Saw action in 20 games while starting in 19...took six shots, two of which were on goal...one came against CS Northridge in Round 1 of the College Cup (Nov. 23) and one was against UCLA (Sept. 22)...tallied three points on the season from assists against Ohio State (Sept. 6), San Diego (Oct. 13) and San Diego State (Oct. 16)...named to the Vanderbilt all-tournament team.
Played in 15 games and made 13 starts for the Lions...put up three shots on the year, one of which was a shot on goal against UCLA in the first round of the College Cup (Nov. 23).
Redshirt due to groin injury.
Brewer is a 2000 graduate of St. Francis High School in La Canada, CA...a four-year letterwinner...served as team captain as a junior and senior...a three-time All-Mission League pick...named second-team All-CIF as a junior and first-team All-CIF as a senior...garnered all-area MVP honors in his final campaign...a two-time all-state selection...prep coach was Glen Appels.
Michael John Brewer was born on Sept. 3, 1982 in Arcadia, CA...the son of Jim and Claire Brewer...has two brothers, Jason and Mark, and one sister, Tracy...enjoys golfing and playing with his dog...names pasta as his favorite food...a business major.
