2011 WCC Title on the Line

The rollercoaster season that has been 2011 for the LMU men's soccer team takes its final twist this week as the Lions continue their quest for the WCC title. On Wednesday, Nov. 9, LMU welcomes San Diego to Sullivan Field for a 2 p.m. kick off. On Friday, Nov. 11, the regular season comes to a close in Moraga, Calif., with a 2 p.m. match at Saint Mary's.


Lions Remain in Title Hunt With 4-1 Win Over Zags

Tying their highest scoring output of the season, the LMU men's soccer team earned a crucial 4-1 win over visiting Gonzaga Sunday at Sullivan Field.

Second Team All-WCC... WCC Player of the Month (Oct.)... 2010-11 LMU Male Newcomer Athlete of the Year award recipient... back-to-back WCC Player of the Week (Oct. 11 and Oct. 18)... TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week (Oct. 11)... Played in 12 games during his first campaign with the Gauchos... one of five freshman to record at least one goal and one assist... scored lone goal of the season at Columbia (9/14)... played 48 minutes, the most of the season, against No. 8 ranked UC Irvine... recorded only assist of the season on the first goal during the 4-2 victory against Evansville (9/18)...

Two-year letterwinner at Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo, Calif., for Coach Kevin Otsuji... played club soccer with Slammers FC, Irvine Strikers, and Pateadores... won a Cal-South/Cal-North Premier state title with Pateadores in 2007... a 2007 CYSA National Cup finalist... captained the Pateadores squad... tallied 19 goals and 11 assists in 2007...
