Lions Fall 2-0 To Michigan
Men's soccer drops its season opener to Michigan at the Michigan State Tournament.

Los Angeles, CA - The 22nd-ranked Loyola Marymount men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss in its season opening game at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday afternoon in Game 1 of the Michigan State Tournament. Junior Matt Kovar led the Lions with five shots on the day.
The Lions (0-1-0 Overall) posted 12 shots on the day compared to 15 for the Wolverines (1-0-0 Overall). Kovar's five was tops for LMU, Danny Williams and Kevin Novak each followed with two while Pat Parker and Sean Rhynard added one apiece.
Lion goalkeeper Adam Sthay made seven saves in the game and kept the Wolverines off the board in the first half. The second half was a different story though as Michigan scored twice in under a minute holding on for the 2-0 win.
LMU returns to action tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 1 against tournament host Michigan State at 9 a.m. PST.
