Danny Williams opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as Michael Brewer headed a pass off the throw in by Matthew Kovar. Williams collected the pas and slipped the ball in the net for the 1-0 lead. Scott Barnett gave the Highlanders (3-4-1) their best chance to get on the scoreboard with an attempt midway through the second half, but the shot was saved by LMU goalkeeper Shaun Kalnasy. Kalnasy was relieved by Adam Sthay the last 30 minutes.
The Lions return to action on the road in Santa Barbara. LMU will take on No.9 UC Santa Barbara at 5 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 5.
