Two Lions Named NSCAA All-Americans

Loyola Marymount University seniors Andres Murriagui and Arturo Torres were selected as 2002 NSCAA/adidas Men's NCAA Division I All-Americans. Midfielder Murriagui garnered First-Team honors while forward Torres was name Third-Team.

The All-America honors are the first for both Murriagui and Torres, who were also first-team NSCAA all-region and All-West Coast Conference selections.

Murriagui, was invited to particpate in the 2003 adidas MLS Player Combines taking place this week. Many of the top college and Project-40 prospects for the 2003 SuperDraft will gather for the 2003 adidas MLS Player Combine from Sunday, Jan. 12 to Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Every MLS general manager and members of each of the 10 coaching staffs will be in attendance to scout talent at the event leading up to the 2003 SuperDraft presented by adidas, which will be held on Friday, January 17 at the Kansas City Convention Center (3:30 - 7:30 ET) in Kansas City, Missouri.

The NSCAA/adidas All-America teams are determined through voting by NSCAA member coaches from across the nation. The teams, from youth to NCAA Division I, will be honored at the NSCAA/adidas All-America Luncheon, to be held Saturday, Jan. 18, as part of the 2003 NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Mo.
