Men's Soccer Unveils 2017 Schedule

Los Angeles, Calif. - LMU soccer fans should be getting excited for the 2017 men's soccer season, the schedule has just been released. The 18-match slate includes eight contest that will be played on Sullivan Field, along with five matches against opponents who appeared in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.

The Lions being the 2017 season Wednesday August 16th, hosting an exhibition match against CSU Bakersfield. They head out on the road for three straight matches after that, starting with an exhibition game at Cal State Northridge (Aug. 19). The first game of the season will be at Seattle University (Aug. 25) followed by a match at Washington (Aug. 27). The Lions return home for the home opener September 1st versus UNC Asheville.

After the home opener, they face Penn State (Sept. 9) on Sullivan Field before heading out for a four-game road trip. The Lions tackle Northern California where they have contests against UC Davis (Sept. 8) and Sacramento State (Sept. 10). Continuing the road trip, LMU heads cross country this year to take on some different opponents in Florida. The Lions will face Florida Gulf Coast (Sept. 15) and USF (Sept. 17).

LMU comes home for a three-game home stretch facing UC Irvine (Sept. 21), UC Riverside (Sept. 24), and New Mexico (Oct. 4) before beginning WCC play with USD (Oct. 10).

WCC play comes to Sullivan Field when the Lions host Gonzaga (Oct. 13) and Portland (Oct. 21). LMU is back on the road for Saint Mary's (Oct. 27) and Pacific (Oct. 29). Senior day will take place for the final home game against Santa Clara (Nov. 6) and the Lions close the season at San Francisco (Nov. 11).
