Jozkowicz Honored by CollegeSoccer360.com and the WCC
Oct. 18, 2011
LOS ANGELES - LMU men's soccer senior midfielder Artur Jozkowicz has been named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week, one day after earning West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors. Jozkowicz assisted LMU's game-winning goal on Friday against Santa Clara, then went on to score the game-winner Sunday against San Francisco as the Lions went 2-0 in West Coast Conference play. The senior captain, who played all 187 minutes in the two matches, was the set-up man for John McFarlin's overtime game-winner against the Broncos on Friday. On Sunday, Jozkowicz scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 76th minute off a long cross from Jonas Reiter, leading LMU to a 2-1 win over the Dons. With the two wins, the Lions are riding a three-game win streak and move to 5-9 overall and 3-3 in WCC play, good for fourth place in the tightly contested standings. The Lions have a 12-day break from competition, returning to the field on Oct. 28 at Santa Clara. Also Nominated: Ryan Kawulok, POR; Adam Campbell, USD WCC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
