The Lions (3-10-2, 1-3-0 WCC) were defeated by the Saint Mary’s Gaels (6-6-3, 3-2-0 WCC) on Friday afternoon in Moraga, Calif., 5-0.
Paul Lewis and Collin Partee split time in the net for LMU in the loss. Lewis registered three saves while Partee finished with two. Andrew Konstantino was in goal for Saint Mary’s and had four saves in the Gaels’ win.
Jake Rudel had a dominant performance for Saint Mary’s, finishing with a hat trick on the night, netting the first (2:32), third (16:20), and fifth (58:44) goals for the Gaels. Rudel now has six goals on the season. Stephen Dougherty and Joseph Restani scored the other two goals for Saint Mary’s at the 16:20 and 57:12 minute marks, respectively.
Saint Mary’s outshot LMU 16-7 while the Lions took six corner kicks to the Gaels’ two.
LMU looks to bounce back from today’s loss when the team travels to Stockton, Calif., for another WCC road match against Pacific on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m.
