Three Earn WCC All-Academic Honors

Complete WCC All-Academic Release | LMU on Facebook | LMU on Twitter SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Ryan Felix was named to the 2012 West Coast Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic team while teammates Mitch Boland and Craig Nitti earned placement on the honorable mention team, the league office announced Friday. At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team. Felix, a sophomore physics major carries a 3.66 cumulative GPA. On the pitch, he has appeared in 17 of 18 matches, earning 15 starts in the Lions' back line or midfield. He tallied his second career goal on Sept. 28 in a 2-2 double overtime draw against Saint Mary's. Boland, a redshirt senior sociology major has a 3.24 cumulative GPA. Also a SAAC representative and student-athlete mentor, Boland has anchored LMU's defensive line all season long while also adding one goal and one assist. Nitti is a redshirt sophomore majoring in management and human resources major had has a 3.38 cumulative GPA. On the pitch he has been a mainstay in the Lions' back line while also contributing a pair of goals, including one game-winner, and one assist. 2012 WEST COAST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
