SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Mitch Boland has been named the West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for November 12, 2012, the league announced Monday.
The redshirt-senior defender helped the Lions finish the regular-season on a five-match unbeaten streak. He was a key factor in LMU's scoreless draw against Santa Clara on Friday, playing all 110 minutes as the Lions shut down a high-powered Broncos attack.
On Sunday, Boland assisted on the Lions' first goal of the match and he scored the final goal on a header in the 83rd minute as the Lions capped the season with a 4-2 victory over Saint Mary's.
Boland became the second Lion to earn WCC Player of the Week this season as freshman Pedro Velazquez took the honor last week.
