SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Three student-athletes from the Loyola Marymount men’s soccer team were highlighted on Tuesday as the 2017 All-WCC honors were announced by the conference office. The individual and team awards for the conference were voted on solely by the WCC’s eight head coaches.
The 2017 season marked Bovill’s third campaign with the Lions after transferring from Saint Louis following his freshman year. This season, Bovill logged the most minutes among all Lions (1,647) and led the team in assists (4). The defender played in all 18 of the team’s contests and started in 17.
Madrigal has earned All-WCC honors in four consecutive seasons. He appeared in all 18 of LMU’s matches in 2017, starting in 16. Madrigal led the team in goals (3) this season and ranked second among Lions in assists, behind Bovill, with three. The senior midfielder also led the team in total shots (56) and shots on goal (19). Over his four-year career with LMU, Madrigal has scored 15 goals and dished out 14 assists. He finished his career tied for ninth in the Lions’ history books for most goals scored while ranking 13th in assists.
In his first season with LMU, forward Kris Fourcand was named to the WCC’s All-Freshman Team. Fourcand competed in 14 contests for the Lions in 2017 and finished the season with two goals and one assist.
