LOS ANGELES - The postseason honors continue to roll in for LMU men's soccer rookie Pedro Velazquez as he was most recently named to the College Soccer News 2012 All-Freshman Third Team.

The Carson, Calif., native led the Lions in total points and goals, finishing with 14 points on six goals and two assists. He is the third Lion in program history to be named to the College Soccer News All-Freshman Team.

Last month, Velazquez became the third LMU player to be named the WCC Freshman of the Year, and the first since Roger Downes in 2008. He was the also the only freshman to receive All-WCC honors this season and was one of two Lions named to the WCC All-Freshman Team.

The young Lion squad closed out the 2012 season riding a five-match unbeaten streak on their way to a 6-10-4 overall record and 4-5-3 WCC mark.
