Lions Struggle In Iowa
Men's tennis falls to Illinois State in a neutral site match held in Iowa City, Iowa.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The indoor courts at the Hawkeye Tennis Center did not favor the Lions on Saturday as they fell to Illinois State 7-0 in a neutral site match held at the home venue of the University of Iowa.
The dual match began with the Lions competing but falling in the doubles round. Senior Nicholas Bjerke and junior Sebastian Bustamante fell to Appanervand and Pelaez 8-4 on court one. Sophomores Todd Volmari and Felix Van Kann were defeated by Brunskog and Torrellas 8-5. The third match with freshman Cristobal Rivera and junior Daniel Simko went unfinished as the round wrapped up.
LMU was swept in singles with four of the matches going three sets. Van Kann won the first set on court three 7-6, before falling in three to Eisner. Rivera also won his first set with Wilson, before losing in a tie breaker in the second set 7-4. Bustamante lost to Torrellas in three as did Simko, each winning the second set. Bjerke and sophomore Othar Kordachia fell in straight sets.
The Lions' two-match road trip to Iowa continues Sunday as they face host Iowa at 9:00 a.m., Pacific time.
