#38 Toreros Top Lions

San Diego, Calif. - Mike Wojnarowicz pushed 38th-ranked San Diego's Mirza Koristovic to a tough three sets at the No. 2 spot in singles, but the senior's efforts were not enough to top the host Toreros. No. 38 San Diego won the West Coast Conference Challenge with a 7-0 victory over the Lions Sunday.

LMU falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in WCC play after starting the season with a win over Hawaii-Hilo. No. 38 San Diego improves to 4-1 and extends its winning streak to three straight matches.

The Lions played a tough three matches in three days, beginning with the LMU tennis home opener Friday against Wisconsin. LMU then traveled to San Diego for this weekend's WCC Challenge, where the Lions faced San Francisco on Saturday before meeting up with the host Toreros today.

The challenging WCC schedule continues this week for the Lions, who travel to Malibu to face fifth-ranked Pepperdine Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. -GO LIONS-
