#42 LMU Cruises Past Nevada

The LMU men's tennis team (6-2) kept to its winning ways on Sunday, defeating Nevada (6-2) by a score of 7-0 from the LMU Tennis Center. The Lions have now won three straight matches and are 2-0 at home this year.

"I'm proud of the team and the effort this weekend," head coach Tom Lloyd said. "The guys will look to get better this week at practice, and we are focused on NAU March 3rd."

The Lions also posted a win over #44 Cal Poly on Friday to start the weekend.

Five of LMU's six singles wins came in straight sets, as Lucas Moreno, Errol Smith, Charles Boyce, Nick Borchenko and Diego Nava all won matches. Gabriel Diaz Freire was the final Lion to finish, defeating Julien Evrard, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (6), 10-3 in a hard-fought battle at the top of the order.

Borchenko and Freire won their doubles match as well, teaming to knock off Kostya Nesterenko/Evrard, 6-4, at #1 doubles. Boyce and Moreno teamed to provide the other doubles win that resulted in an LMU point, defeating Robert Margitfalvi/Jeremy Merville, 6-3, at #2 doubles.

LMU will return to action on March 3 when it hosts Northern Arizona at 10 a.m.
