Final Stats

Los Angeles, Calif - After three very close losses, Loyola Marymount Men's Tennis (3-11) landed back on top on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions got their third win of the season against the Bobcats 4-3.

LMU started the winning in the doubles round. The Lions took the doubles point 2-1. Ivan Lopez and Nick Von Der Ahe bounced back with a victory in the No. 3 doubles position. Lopez and Von Der Ahe defeated MSU's Fletcher Keyes and Myles Perkins 8-4 for their sixth win of the season and fifth win in six matches. Geza Bazula and Johan Berhof won the point for LMU. After being down late in the match, Bazula and Berhof pulled off the 9-7 victory over Alberto Fuentes and Corey Smith.

The singles round did not start off well for the Lions. Montana State took the lead 2-1 with wins in the No. 2 and No. 6 positions until Geza Bazula tied up the the score. Bazula delivered LMU's first singles victory of the day. After winning a tough first set the freshman from Budapest easily defeated MSU's Fletcher Keyes 7-5, 6-0 for his fifth win in six home matches.

Ivan Lopez put LMU back on top 3-2 at the No. 1 spot. Lopez defeated the Bobcats' Corey Smith 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 for his third win in a row.

Aris Andreasian brought home the win for the Lions with LMU's third singles victory of the match. Andreasian came from behind to defeat MSU's Fuentes 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 for his fifth win this season and first in the No. 5 position.

LMU Men's Tennis will conclude competition this week with a match against Harvard on Sunday. The Lions will take on the Crimson at 1:30 p.m. at LMU Tennis Center.
