Provo, Utah - After a stunning win at the Betty Werner Cup, Loyola Marymount Men's Tennis (4-13) looked to continue their winning ways on the road this weekend. On Friday LMU traveled to Provo, Utah for their first of three matches on this road trip. Host BYU was too much for the Lions as LMU lost the match 7-0.

The Lions fell behind early. LMU lost the doubles round 3-0. Borja Malet and Renzo Maggi were the closest pair to capture a doubles win for LMU. Malet and Maggi lost a close match to BYU's Georgy Batrakova and Roman Warias 8-6.

LMU continued to slip into the singles round. The Lions lost all six singles matches. Malet and Ivan Lopez were the only players for LMU to reach extra sets. In the No. 1 singles position, Lopez fell to Warias 6-4, 2-6, 10-8. The match ended Lopez's five match winning streak. Malet lost his first match in the No. 5 singles position. Malet lost the last match of the day to A. J. Young 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.

LMU Men's Tennis continues their road trip in Utah tomorrow. The Lions will travel to Salt Lake City to take on Utah. Match time is 4:00 p.m.
