Lions End Regular Season with 5-2 Win at UC Irvine
The LMU men's tennis team traveled to UC Irvine Wednesday afternoon and came home with a 5-2 win to end the regular season.

Irvine, Calif. -- The Lions' regular season came to an end today as the Lions defeated UC Irvine 5-2 at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center in their final match before the West Coast Conference Championships begin on April 23. LMU ends the season at 14-9 overall and 4-5 in WCC play.
In the doubles round, UC Irvine won on Court 1 first but LMU would come back to win on Courts 2 and 3 to take the doubles point. Both LMU wins needed a tiebreaker to settle things with Daniel Simko and David Doehring winning 8-7 on Court 3 before Cristobal Rivera and Felix Van Kann clinched the point for the Lions with their 8-7 win on the middle court.
In singles play, first to finish was Court 5, where Othar Kordsachia got a nice 6-2, 6-0 win in his first match back from injury. Todd Volmari gave the Lions their third point when he won 6-1, 6-4 on Court 2. And on Court 3, Felix Van Kann would be the clincher for the Lions as he defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-4. David Doehring added LMU's fifth point when he won 6-3, 7-6 on the top court.
