The duo helped LMU to a split of two matches against Arizona State and Fresno State last week. The pair is now 7-2 overall, including 5-1 in dual matches, and have won five straight decisions.
Borchenko/Diaz Freire opened play with a 6-4 victory over Ruehl/Hannestad of ASU on Friday before topping Soke/Veys of Fresno State, 6-4, on Saturday. LMU captured the doubles point in both matches, with the two teaming to get the first victory in both matches while playing at the #2 spot in the order.
The two teamed together last year as well, posting a 7-2 overall record, including a 6-1 mark in the WCC, to earn a spot on the All-WCC Doubles First Team.
The weekly honor is the first for the Lions this year, but Borchenko/Diaz Freire earned a selection together last year on April 11.
