The West Coast Conference has named Loyola Marymount's Errol Smith the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and the Lions duo of Charles Boyce and Lukas Moenter the Doubles Team of the Week.
Smith went 2-0 while playing at No. 3 singles, helping No. 42 LMU to wins over No. 44 Cal Poly and Nevada. Smith defeated Antoine Noel (Cal Poly), 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, on Friday before beating Kostya Nesterenko (Nevada), 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday. Smith is now 5-1 in dual matches this year.
The Lions pair of Boyce and Moenter beat No. 44 Cal Poly's Andrew Whitehouse and Roman Shenkiryk, 7-5, on Friday while playing at the No. 2 position. The victory helped LMU earn the doubles point against the Mustangs. The pair is now 4-3 overall, including 3-3 in dual matches.
The singles selection is the first of the year for LMU, while LMU has earned Doubles Team of the Week in two of the last three weeks. Nick Borchenko and Gabriel Diaz Freire took the honor on February 13.
