LMU men's tennis continued to climb in uncharted water on Tuesday, climbing to a new program-best ranking according to the ITA. The 36th-ranked Lions will play UC Irvine on Wednesday in Newport Beach before returning to host UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
LMU, which jumped one spot to its current ranking, is the highest-ranked WCC team in the ITA rankings. San Diego, which was #36 a week ago, fell to #41 in this week's poll.
LMU, 7-2 overall on the year, has won four straight matches. UC Irvine is currently 3-6 and has lost four of the last five overall, most recently beating Boston College on Monday. UCSB is 6-4 overall, and is coming off a victory over Saint Mary's on Saturday. The Gauchos will play Arizona on Tuesday of this week before traveling to LMU.
