Bjerke Earns Conference Honors for Tournament Play

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Loyola Marymount's Nicholas Bjerke earned Second Team All-Conference Honors for his singles performance at the West Coast Conference Championship Tournament last weekend. Sophomore Nicholas Bjerke, a transfer from the University of Oregon, has been an important factor for the Lions throughout the season in both singles and doubles play. Bjerke ended the season with an 11-10 singles record and a 5-3 conference record. Bjerke played at the Lion's number two position all season earning some decisive wins for LMU including wins over Santa Clara, San Francisco and Gonzaga. At the Tournament, Bjerke went 1-1 in singles play earning him Second Team All-Conference recognition. Bjerke is also earned honorable mention for his doubles play with partner, senior Aris Andreasian. The duo earned a win over Portland in the final day of the tournament to help lead the Lions to a team win over Portland and a fifth place overall finish in the tournament.
